June 25, 2016 Small Business Center On the Road


The City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection Small Business Center On the Road event was held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago, IL.

Guest Speakers:

Michelle Williams was the keynote speaker and discussed her experience as an entrepreneur launching her Home and Bedding Collection, Believe at Home. Mayor Emanuel spoke to the small business owners and entrepreneurs in attendance about City initiatives to assist small business owners.  He discussed that the City is interested in reducing the time it takes a business to apply for licences and inspections from one or more city departments. The City is evolving to have more programs online for easier access to licensing, permits and inspection requirements for many types of businesses including restaurants, manufacturing, day care centers, motor vehicle repair shops and many others.
