ID Genomics

ID Genomics (IDG) is a biotechnology company that is dedicated to the development of innovative, precision diagnostic tests to guide the best antibiotic choice for bacterial infections all before the patient leaves the doctor’s office. IDG diagnostics fingerprint bacteria and assign them to drug resistance families (sort of like “crime families”). The data from these families are stored in BactNeT™, IDG’s proprietary bacterial database, which is current comprised of 31,000+ bacterial species and strains. Ultimately, IDG’s technology will lead to better patient outcomes and reduced cost to payors. Through BactNeT™ IDG also facilitate antibiotic resistance surveillance by pinpointing outbreaks and improving antibiotic stewardship both locally and globally.

Voxello is transforming the way impaired acute care patients communicate.  3.5 million patients each year go through US hospitals not being able to communicate effectively with their caregiver.  This costs the US healthcare system $29B a year.  The magnitude of this issue has caused the Joint Commission to mandate that hospitals provide effective communication for non-verbal patients.  Voxello® has developed the patented noddle®, which allows patients to use any single voluntary gesture such as a tongue click or minor motion to both activate a nurse call and speech generation device.  This not only affects the hospital’s bottom line, but also significantly improves patient satisfaction.  The noddle® is installed at 12 institutions including hospitals such as Thomas Jefferson, Tampa General, University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin, St. Louis Children’s and several VA hospitals.
